About IHSAA
The Ithaca High School Alumni Association was established in 2003 as part of the effort to produce an updated version of the 1996 IHS Alumni Directory, Ithaca's first such directory. A small group of Ithaca area alumni gathered several times during the production period to make plans for establishing an official alumni organization. Over the months we discovered numerous hurdles to be overcome. Undaunted, we sailed blithely on.
With the seriously underpaid efforts of Joe Scaglione ('81), we developed a website and managed to stay afloat for a couple of years. Many did come to us. However, the site became very time-consuming and difficult to maintain for the few who were working to keep it going. When we were just about ready to jump ship, along came Matt Clark of Gorges Websites. This website is the result, and we are hoping the alumni of IHS will join and become an active (and interactive) part of the effort -- a team effort to keep IHSAA alive.

We cannot overlook what has been an ongoing problem:money. We have been unable to establish ourselves as a legitimate non-profit entity because we haven't had the money. We are hoping that some time in the not-so-distant future, you will be able to deduct your dues and donations from your taxes. With income from dues, donations, and products from our soon-to-be-estabished Alumni Store, we hope to become a legally incorporated entity, an official non-profit organization, and an IHS fixture.
If you wish to join, click sign-in on the Home Page, or go to the Dues & Donations page. While payment of dues is not required for access to the website, we hope you will consider paying $10 per year to help support the organization and continuation of the website.
There are three types of IHSAA membership.
- Associate Membership
Associate members are all persons who have graduated from or attended Ithaca High School. Faculty and former faculty of the high school are also eligible for associate membership. Associate members shall have no right to hold office or vote on IHSAA issues.
- Voting Membership
Voting members are associate members who choose to pay the annual dues of $10. The membership year runs from July 1st to June 30th. Voting members are eligible to vote in elections of the Association, serve on the Board of Directors, serve on committees of the Board, and hold office in the IHSAA.
- Honorary Membership
Honorary members are persons selected by the IHSAA Board of Directors. These individuals have made significant contributions to the Ithaca High School or the IHSAA but did not attend the School. Honorary members shall have no right to vote, to hold office in, or to serve on the Board of Directors of the Association.
All of you are welcome to use this website free of charge. We appreciate your questions, comments, and suggestions as we move forward with the new IHSAA!
